چکیده

In the field of multi-agent systems (MAS) the concept of game theory is widely in use ([15]; [23]; [30]). The initial aim of game theorists was to find principles of rational behavior. When an agent behaves rationally it “will act in order to achieve its goal and will not act in such a way as to prevent its goals from being achieved without good cause” [19]. In some situations it is rational to cooperate with other agents to achieve its goal. With the introduction of the “trembling hand” noise ([32]; [4]) a perfect strategy would take into account that agents occasionally do not perform the intended action. To learn, adapt, and evolve will be of a major interest for the agent. It became a major task for game theorists to describe the dynamical outcome of model games defined by strategies, payoffs, and adaptive mechanisms, rather than to prescribe solutions based on a priori reasoning. The crucial thing is what happens if the emphasis is on a conflict of interest among

Zero-determinant strategies in iterated multi-strategy games

Self-serving, rational agents sometimes cooperate to their mutual benefit. The two-player iterated prisoner’s dilemma game is a model for including the emergence of cooperation. It is generally believed that there is no simple ultimatum strategy which a player can control the return of the other participants. The recent discovery of the powerful class of zero-determinant strategies in the itera...

Modeling Cooperation between Nodes in Wireless Networks by APD Game

Cooperation is the foundation of many protocols in wireless networks. Without cooperation, the performance of a network significantly decreases. Hence, all nodes in traditional networks are required to cooperate with each other. In this paper, instead of traditional networks, a network of rational and autonomous nodes is considered, which means that each node itself can decide whe...

The economic basis of cooperation: Tradeoffs between selfishness and generosity

The current study examined the economics of cooperation in controlled-payoff games by using captive blue jays, Cyanocitta cristata. This investigation used a special feeding apparatus to test for the stability of cooperative choice in a series of iterated games. The jays experienced experimentally determined game theoretical payoff matrices, which determined the distribution of food to themselv...

A review on symmetric games: theory, comparison and applications

Game theory models decision makers' behaviors in strategic situations. Since the structures of games are different, behavior and preferences of the players are different in various types of game. This paper reviews various situations of games. Here, characteristics of some common games are discussed and compared. Specifically, we focus on a group of games called symmetric games including Prison...
